Jailbreak 3gs 4.0 with no prior JB

Sorry, I've searched, but most everything here is concerning previously JB 3gs. My understanding is that there is currently no JB for a non-JB 3gs on 4.0. I've been told to wait and the DT will release something. How realistic is that? Am I basically screwed on this or do you think they really will have tools out soon?

as I understand it if you haven't been jailbroken before then you CAN NOT jailbreak iOS 4 on a 3gs. If you used Spirit to jailbreak your 3gs on iOS 3.1.3 you CAN NOT jailbreak iOS 4. I'm not familiar with redsn0w but I think that is only works on the 3g

I have the old bootrom, but just wondering if there is going to be a JB for a non-jailbroken 3gs on 4.0.

There will be tools out...eventually, but who knows how "soon". They might wait until 4.0.1 is out
