Jail Breaking iphone 5 with 7.1.2 HELP

New too this never done it, got a iphone 5 thats activated right now i use it daily, its got ios 7.1.2 and ive researched how too jail break and i keep getting different responses from different people saying it works it doesnt work and all this bull****. If yall can tell me how to jail break it safely without deleting all my stuff and if i can since its activated itd be greatly appreciated thanks
