iTunes "Not Responding" when usb iPhone

Just got my 1st iPhone 3gs Friday. Running into the following problem.

When I usb my iPhone to any of two PC computers here at the house, iTunes goes to "Not Responding." It will sync/download podcasts I've selected, but otherwise iTunes freezes up.

I'm trying to check my sync options, but can access them.

Ok, did some seaching and found the answer that does NOT make sense! Is this a bug with iTunes?

I deleted ALL of my podcasts and iTunes didn't go to "Not Responding."

Now, I have to figure out how to take my playist songs & move them to the iPhone.

What I found was this, which dates back, based on the dates of the fixes I found.

Any podcast you dl using your iPhone causes the problem vs using iTunes on your PC. This is what I consistently read across various posts.

So, when I delete ALL my podcasts on my phone, iTunes would not freeze up ("Not responding"). Weird & surprising it has not been fixed.

But hey, I'm brand new to the iPhone & iTunes which I find very unuser friendly. Maybe this will change with time?
