I had the same happening to me after changing hard drives on my computer.

I ended up deleting iTunes altogether, reinstall it and import all music album by album. It's a long and painful process but it paid off for me on the long run.

You could try to 'consolidate music' or something with similar wording to see if that works for you.

I'm on windows myself. I suggest you first try to consolidate the files.

And please don't forget to move the files to an external drive before deleting anything.

The issue must be with the symlink that I made, for Music and Apple Music. I created a symlink on my NAS, and copied it to the itunes Media folder. This seems to be causing an issue, I used an app called Symboliclinker 2.1

If I delete the Apple Music Folder (which is a symbolic Link to my NAS), then download an apple music album, it creates the directory Apple Music, and goes into it like it should. Very weird.
