Issue with capacity

When looking in itunes. I see 9.6Gig of "other". I dont know what it is. Is this common. I have removed all music/vidoes/alot of apps and pics. But something is holding 9.6 gig. I just upgraded to 5.0. Is this the issue?

Since I didn't know what it was.. I restored it. I first backed it up and when it restored it had a problem with my backup. so I have a new phone..

Over time things collect it, what you were supposed to restore and it then use your backup but I guess yours got corrupted or something.
