Is your iPhone your alarm clock?

I use it and a watch alarm as a backup. But what I'd like is a way to have the time displayed and dimmed out on the screen when in alarm mode.

Any way to do this on the phone itself?

I use Alarm Clock by iHandy that does just what you are desiring. I plug it in (it has a lock screen override built in so that if plugged in it will not lock), and with a simple swipe I can set the brightness as I want.

Might be worth a try...

Maybe when I travel but typically don't need an alarm away from home. I'm using the same alarm clock I got in college back in the late 90s

When I use my iPhone as an alarm. I occasionally use the stock alarm, but when I do the song is Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Israel.

I mainly switch between Sleep Time (tracks my sleep) or Carrot (to break the snooze habit).

Even though it's not my only alarm clock it is the one I use the most. Use the stock app, and haven't regretted it.

I don't use it as my alarm clock. I have an xmradio alarm clock. I wake up to baseball talk no matter what month we are in.
