Hi, sorry to disturb.

I am a newbie here. And I am really frustrating now. To keep away from the hassle of illegal downloads, I purchased the TV show and movies from iTunes and I want to watch them on my Samsung TV. I tried several time but the files can't be playback. Is there a simple way to do that without owning Apple TV.

Using plex sometimes works but I'm my experience it's hit and miss.

Cheapest way I can think of is to get a lightening to hdmi and play from an iPhone/iPad using home sharing.

Agree 100% with dpscott, having a Plex media server is probably your best bet. The version you would need is the free version too. Other than that you could get one of the adapters he mentioned on ebay for fairly cheap. I think I got one last year for ~$15. Works great on my projector at work. All that being said, if you can afford it I would grab an Apple TV. I got one through the Direct TV Now promotion and I am really enjoying it.

If you have a MacBook or a PC with the appropriate ports, you may be able to.
