Is there a way to setup Apple TV when the remote won't work?

My ATV was acting up and I thought it was because I was running one of the beta releases. I went ahead and reset it, but after that, I realized that wasn't really the issue at all. Turns out, my ATV remote is dead and won't work even after charging for a day. Now, I can't get past the setup screen where it asks me to pair the remote. Is there any other way to get past the setup screen at this point or am I stuck until I buy another remote?

Have you checked an iPhone or an iPad using the Remote app? I'm not sure if it would read it that early in the process though.

Edit:
Found this on Apple's site

I know, lete reply to this but I wanted to post my solution that worked. If you have an old, silver ATV Remote, that will work to get you through the initial process as well and hold you over until you can get another ATV Siri Remote. It works, just with the obvious drawbacks.
