Is the 4S Worth $250 plus my 4?

I'm sure there are threads on here like this but I searched the 1st few pages and didn't see one. Anyway, I have a co-worker that will sell me his 4S for $550. He needs the cash right now. He got the phone on launch day and will go with me to Apple just to be sure they transfer the warranty over. Looking on CL and eBay, I am pretty sure I can easily get $300 for my 4, possibly $350. Its still under warranty until the end of this month and is perfect. Would you guys make the jump?

Depends on if you want to walk around talking to your phone. The speed really isn't that much faster and the battery life is not as good as the 4. I personally would wait for the 5, but that's me.

If you're looking for a few more bells & whistles than the 4 and spending the extra cash isn't hurting, then go for it. Why not? We all like new phones! :) And, from what I can tell, you aren't using an upgrade on your own line and you could get an iPhone 5 in 2012 if that is what you are really waiting on...

It's up to you in the end, though. Let us know what you decide!

i'd say from an iPhone 4, it's not really worth the upgrade unless you are big into photography or videography.

i could see the difference between an iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS...but with a 4 and 4S....it's really not that big of a difference.

I wouldn't pay an extra 250 from a 4 to a 4S. But I did upgrade when the 4S came out. I was able to buy a 4S for 200 + got the Applecare+, and sold my 4 for $300, So I kind of evened out. I have 3 lines, and I knew that I had this extra upgrade to blow, so I figured I would try out the S. It is a cool phone, but to me it's not an extra $250 cool.

i upgraded from the 4 to the 4S (gave the 4 to my wife). the 4S with Siri is great, the camera is awesome. you dont really see the speed difference all the time. im still happy with my upgrade though.

Thanks guys. I am holding off for now. I told him to sell his if he can. Offered him $500 just in case. If he gives it to me for that, I think I'll jump.

It's completely up to you. I love my 4S but not sure it's so different from 4 to warrant that amount.

It's all subjective. I'd pay an extra 250 to have the 4S instead of a 4 (but that's just me). It's not simply one thing like a much better processor. It's all of them put together. But here goes again in no particular order:

1. Better mic
2. More storage with 64gb
3. Wireless mirroring
4. Enhanced antenna meaning no touch of death
5. hspa+ which is faster internet
6. 2x processor
7. updated BT
8. Siri Siri Siri
9. Dictation for some core apple apps like mail, messenging, notes
10. camera & 1080p video

Simply put, it's a much better iphone 4. You have to decide if that's worth 250 but you'll be upgrade eligible at the time of iphone 5 and likely can sell your 4S which will pay for an iphone 5 as well as get back some of that 250.

It just depends on how badly you want the 4S...the iPhone 4 (16GB) easily fetches $300-$350 online right now...so if you figure the 4S is running between $500-$600 on average, I'd say that is about inline with the right amount of money combined with the older iPhone.
