Is my 6 Plus defective??

I bought a T-Mobile 64GB iPhone 6 Plus about a week ago and have been experiencing some issues. First of all I have been getting the blue screen of death once and awhile. It's happened to me about 5 times in the past week. Also, I have all notifications and location services shut off and I'm only getting about 8 hours of use and 12 hours of standby. I tried to restore the phone but that didn't seem to help at all. Does it sound like my device is defective? Or what do you recommend that I do?

PS: I did a scan on my battery and it says the design capacity is 2855 and the full charge capacity is 2900. I'm not sure what that means, but it may help you guys.

About a week ago, week [redacted]

It probably is. Make a genius bar appointment and they will check. About the battery, nothing is wrong, just the wrong results on the test.

Sounds like your device and/or backup file might faulty/corrupted. I've never had a blue screen on this device, so if it happened even once it'd throw up a red flag to me.

Just a bit of advice though...using a backup editor (like I see you use in that screen shot) is a very easy way to corrupt a backup and cause a lot of performance issues. Not sure what your objective is by using such, but maybe refrain from using it and do a restore via iTunes only and use a backup that has not been edited in any way. See if you're still getting the problems...if so, you can pretty much guarantee it's a faulty device.

Thanks for the reply! I have had every iPhone and never had a BSOD until this one. I did a restore in recovery mode a few days ago and setup my phone as a new device. I downloaded iBackupbot just to check the battery stats on my phone. I saw that a lot of people were using it on a different forum so I tried it out. If I just checked my battery stats would that mess up my phone? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

If that's the only thing you used it for, you should be just fine...it's probably a faulty device, and I would definitely make a genius bar appointment for a replacement. The good thing about not worrying about what is wrong with your present device is that if it, for whatever reason, resolved the issue on its own...who's to say the same crap won't start down the road, maybe even after your warranty is expired. Go get it replaced...then you don't even have to stress that at all.

I'll setup an appointment to get it swapped out this week. Do have any idea if the replacement phones at this point would be new or refurbished? I wouldn't want to end up with a refurbished phone after I just dropped $850 for a new (defective) phone a week ago.

Discussions around here seem to point to the idea that it's still too early in the production cycle to have refurbs hitting the stores when having them replaced...but to be honest, like I tell anyone who brings this up...the refurbished devices have QC as good or better than the new models, as most of the device is brand new, and only parts that were in absolutely perfect condition would be allowed to be used during the rebuilding process. In the end, besides the mental anguish some people seem to have...there's no difference between a new device and a refurb...aside from the refurbished unit potentially having MORE quality control methods performed on it before it hits your hand, which might lead to a better future user experience.

That sounds fair to me. Do you think I need to worry about them having a replacement in stock at all? I just made an appointment for Wednesday evening.

THAT my friend is a question I wish I could help you with, but honestly can't. My guess is, if they don't have stock for replacements, they should contact you after you make your genius bar appointment, but given the issues you described, if you end up going and they don't have a replacement in stock for you, I doubt you'll have wasted more than a few minutes before they let you know, and at that point, they'll probably offer to ship you one or call you when it's available.

And aside from that, it's very possible they have plenty of replacement stock...I just have no way to assure you of that unfortunately.
