I would like to get the new wireless with the W1 chip to use wit IP 7+ but I can't stand the unnatural sound Mostly listen to classcal, old time country (pre '80) and podcasts.

On your iPhone, go to Settings - Music - EQ, and then select "Bass Reducer". That *may* help your situation a bit.

Apparently the bass in the BeatsX is more refined, according to a lot of reviewers.

Are you not interested in AirPods? I think they would be perfectly fine for the types of audio you listen to.

Worst case scenario buy either one from a store with a good return policy.

I have the Beats X with the W1 chip, I almost exclusively listen to classical music. I was apprehensive about getting Beats headphones given their reputation at excessive bass. I can tell you that I don't find the bass excessive and haven't touched the sound settings on my iPhone 7 plus or iPad Pro.
