Is iOS too weak of an OS to be used on an iPad Pro in 2018?

If you read back all his replies in this thread you’ll have a pretty clear picture of what exactly he wants and expects from ‘iPadOS’.
Again, wanting something vs. what exactly is missing today that he cant use an iPad Pro are different problems. I could start a thread "iPad Pro Wishlist" and his replies will be perfect. But if you are using an Pro today and feeling the need for more - then let's talk that here.

Err...no I am not reading into things. You are stating few things like needing more apps, so I want to know what apps are you looking forward that doesn't satisfy your current needs?

Wanting something vs. needing something is completely different. For example: when Files app came out it was dumb. Now with integrations into other cloud storage helps my workflow a lot.

So, yeah, instead of going around circles and vaguely describing "I want more", let's talk use cases and have a better discussion around what people are missing or frustrated about in their current workflows. That could help us gauge feedback around why iOS is too weak or that workflows are simply different on a mobile OS.

I will reiterate previous statement, and I can’t anymore after this because it is the main point. The main issue. Don’t come back with anything about screen size or apps, or keyboards, or styli, we’re not talking screen size or intentional differences at this point. The main issue is that I can do everything an iPad Pro can do, on my iPhone. That’s the biggest issue right there.

Gaming? Ha! Apple doesn’t require developers to add controller support so a game like PUBG is horrible to play. There are more as well. This is an issue of course after the fact that you have to buy the iPad, the games, the controller, and hope it works. Yes, gaming has always been a selling point of iPad for Apple.

Those are the biggest issues. This is why I say iPad needs a more mature OS, an iOS specifically for iPad. It needs an OS for its product type and capabilities. An app shouldn’t have to be custom made to fix a flawed system.

I can’t even. It’s frustrating. This whole discussion is frustrating.
He did tell what was missing. He also said what he wants. He actually did both, on several occasions in several replies.
Please read back comprehensively before replying. Thanks.

I don't know what to say my friend. If you are not feeling how vague the replies are, then I am not going to stress on that. The point is, iPad Pro OS needs improvement but let's discuss the specificities instead of saying "it needs pro apps", "it needs a new OS". I could say so vaguely for iPhone as well "iOS for iPhone needs to do more like Android", lol. I for one, would love to see what workflows are currently broken from the folks who use an Pro to understand different view points.

I am done with this thread as it looks like all it takes it to be really vague and suggesting and overall improvement than really telling us what's exactly is missing.

No, actually he didn't, which is why more than 1 person is asking for details. He spends paragraph after paragraph complaining and ranting but saying nothing. Tartarus is right - change the name of the thread to "iPad Pro Wishlist" and all would be good.

Plainly put, my replies are valid as this thread is a question on the power of iOS on iPad. I said it think it needs to be better. No I haven’t sat down to determine the specifics of what I want. And no, this isn’t the thread for that. I was also not the one trying to change course of the thread. So at this point, in this thread, the topic is moot. Is iOS powerful enough for the iPad? I say no, I think it needs to be more. Any specifics are for another thread.

The iPad Pro is a powerful device that will be more than sufficient for a good deal of users, however, it will not be enough for others. In what manner it is not enough is irrelevant because each person’s manner of usage is different and so are their likes and dislikes.

With that in mind, let’s be respectful of each other’s opinion on this subject matter please. Thanks.

Fortunately Apple decided to split the OS off to iPadOS so they could offer more iPad specific features that will hopefully be useful.
