I have the same problem. I am a lady (very little arm hair). I do aerobic activity and circuit training in the gym a lot. I noticed a huge decrease in my heart rate on the apple watch when I start to sweat a lot. I wipe under the watch face to see if that helps. It usually brings the heart rate back to normal. However, I'm sure it has by that time thrown my calorie count off.
