Is anyone having an issue with a weaker LTE signal with their new iPhone models?

Re: LTE signal

I'm getting the same cell strength on my iPhone XS Max 512GB unlocked model as I'm getting on my unlocked Note 9. My carrier is Verizon. Hmmmm...

Speedtest scores:

Note 9: 19 Mbps download, 5.71 Mbps upload;

iPhone XS Max: 16.3 Mbps download, 3.15 Mbps upload.

I'm in a small town in northern Minnesota with weak cell signal.

Re: LTE signal

So far, no difference on my AT&T MaXS from my X. Same LTE bars in the same areas, and the wifi has been just as solid.

Re: LTE signal

Haha but ya didn’t answer my question!

Sorry. I don’t always listen. Ask my wife. :) The size is fine, but I don’t have small hands. (It’s nearly identical to the Plus.) I don’t think it shows significantly more content than the X though, just larger content.

Hahaaaa no problem!

That's my debate right now, I feel like I gotta go big or go home but damn it's big! I read an article that it is not for women ha...I have small hands as a woman and even though I did have a plus before, the screen was much shorter. I also noticed that text looks super small on it

I think if you enjoyed the plus, the max will be your cup of tea

Funny you say that because I didn't enjoy it but forced myself into using it because I refused to use a 4.7" screen. Now that there is a 5.8" and a 6.1" coming, I have more options.

It really isn't too big. It is the same as the Plus size phones from before -- it just cut all the bezels out so the screen itself is massive but the body is pretty darn close to that Plus size.

Re: LTE signal

Reports saying new iPhones have weaker LTE and WiFi signals. Anyone having any issues? Trying to figure out where my Max stands. Love the phone but hope it’s signal is good as my old 6s plus.

I have a XS on verizon. Coming from an X, the reception and signal seems to be improved (the X was terrible on verizon). I took a speed test using both phones, same spot (same time of day). got 2.71 and .90 (on my X), and got 13.7 and 3.23 (on my XS). I have not noticed any issues with LTE or wifi losing signal.

I think that is the problem I had with using it! The bezels on the plus models made it easier to view the screen size and navigate. I decided to return the max, it’s just too much screen for me. I am kind of curious to see how the XR looks. I think if they made the XS the 6.1” and the XR the 5.8” that a lot more X users would upgrade for the slightly larger screen

Re: LTE signal

I actually think my reception (both LTE and WiFi) have been worse with the XS. Kind of bummed about that.

Did a ‘Reset Network Settings’ on mine. Helped immensely. Speeds now on par with my Note 9. Both WiFi and LTE.

I had setup via backup from my previous iPhone (an X) as I always do. Might have had some bad cached network data... in any case it was a noticeable improvement after network reset. Saw the suggestion on Pocketnow YouTube episode from today.

I’m having problems with WIFI. The phone has a hard time connecting to my 5ghz network and drops down the the 2.4ghz or LTE. No problem with my other devices.
