In terms of DI itself, a quick point of knowledge:
-there is the iPhone notch or DI to house Apple FaceID camera system. This consists of an IR/dot blaster, a light sensor, other sensors and a camera.
-There is the vast majority of the Android world that goes with a very small hole punch to house just a camera.
Apple is going for security. FaceID will authenticate into almost anything including financial institutions. Androids are going for clean aesthetics of the display. Androids handle Security through fingerprintID. Though they may say they offer a face unlock, it is NOT secure. I don’t believe any financial institution app will allow android face unlock to authenticate into their apps. In other words without a notch or DI, you have to face fingerprintID.
If RealMe is going for secure face authentication then they’ll have to have some sort of hardware under the DI. It then only makes sense to do what Apple did and make use of the space. OTOH if RealMe is not using secure face authentication/doesn’t need a notch or DI, the iPhone 14 Pro ripoff is hilarious.
