was wondering if there was an app where i could run my pc at home as a server with my webcam and connect to it to see what my dogs are doing during the day...is there such an app?

Team Viewer or Log Me In.
I have a diabetic dog, so I use Log Me In to check up on him. I'd recommend Log Me In, as there is a web interface for it as well.

I use iCam... will stream up to 4 web cams and can be set to sense motion and reord it, and to text/email you to alert.
