iPhone XR micro phone issue

I am using iPhone XR and am facing an issue. The micro phone doesn't work while making or receiving calls. It works perfect for all other uses and is working fine with camera and voice memo apps. I have tried removing the case and screen protector, but of no use. I've tried various privacy settings recommended by Apple and also done factory resetting. Does anyone face the same issue? Is this a software issue? Please suggest any remedies.

That's a great question. I've had issues before only to learn that my AirPods were connected to my iPhone!
