UPDATE: NOT fixed. It has crashed once since fix.

Hey all. I was on the betas and returned to stock and had bad safari crashes. Here is the rundown in case anyone has the same issues.

- Was on beta release.
- backed up to icloud
- removed beta and dev profiles
- restored to stock ios.
- restored backup. It let me and did not show warning about versions.
- after restore Safari would crash repeatedly on open
- tried every known remedy under the sun. - nothing helped.
- while fiddling with settings I noticed that I couldn't go into screen time or restrictions
- turning off family share didn't help.
- resetting to default settings didn't help.
- backed up phone again (now not on beta)
- wiped phone
- restored from new backup
- restored family share
- fixed

I tried 12 other troubleshooting steps found googling. None worked.

The secind backup / restore was the key. Removing the family share may have been helpful.

Cheers, Michael B

Restoring an newer version of iOS over an older one is generally not allowed (I'm surprised that the phone didn't;t stop it), but if I were to venture a guess, this is probably what is causing your problem. I'd suggest reset and set up as new.

Any possibility that there are some settings / safari / advanced / experimental features that are turned on for the beta but not for stock? (On my stock 12.1.4, only "ServiceWorkers" is turned on.)

Also, did you try settings / safari / clear history and website data?

Yeah. Tried the simple reset stuff. No expirental settings on.

It has inly crashed once since the 2nd restore. It crashed after nearly every use of Safari before.
