iPhone X or iPhone 8?

If you had the choice, which would you get? Or are both simply too expensive?

It's funny, spent some time looking at pricing, even at the now 'older' iPhone 7. For me (up here in Canada), it'd still be over $1k to pick up a new iPhone 7. Crazy!!

Too expensive. I may still buy it but it will be funded by brand fanatics that will overpay for an X that I will resell (hoping for a limit of 2 per person). No way that I will buy this from my own cash. You will need AppleCare+ for this phone and with it, it will be $2K for just the phone. Even without anything, the 256GB version is still nearly $1,800 after taxes. 64GB version is not an option. You cannot do anything 4K with that amount of storage.

I want the X but I am really going to miss Touch ID. It was a mistake taking it away. Should have put it on the back at the very least. It was nice being able to use the phone while it was on the desk. Now to unlock you have to pick it up and look at it or use a pin, before you could just touch the home button. I might be lazy or really picky but they should think of stuff like that when the device is so pricey. I don't think it can't scan you face while at a angle unless I am mistaken.

Both are expensive imo. Although I do yearly upgrades and this would add just over $8/mo to my plan, this way doesn't sound too bad replacing my 7 plus.

Decisions decisions.

I'm still trying to decide. I was all about the X during rumor season then was a little underwhelmed today. I think the big features I'm looking for are in the 8 Plus. The slightly smaller form factor of the X would be nice. A little more pocketable without sacrificing screen space. I could also afford the X but I'm not sure I want to. The price tag is stupid ridiculous - I like spending money because I work hard for it but I don't waste it.

I'm on Apple's upgrade plan and I'm already eligible. I just need to figure out if I want to go 8 Plus or X?

If I had the choice, it would definitely be the iPhone X for sure. OLED edge to edge display, Face ID, the form factor despite a 5.8” is a major go.

Well its $999 vs $699. So there is quite a big price difference. The iPhone 7 at $549 is also a pretty good option for those wanting to save a couple bucks and it works wonderfully. :D So if i had to choose i would probably go for the iPhone 7 just for the decreased price, but if price wasn't and issue, the iPhone X would be my go to phone. :)

I have a 6s+ (Had it for a couple of years or so) & I've been looking forward to upgrading. I can afford to get the 10, but I can't see the reason (For me) to get the 10. Smaller bezel is nice, although the cutout just doesn't look quite right. The AR stuff is pretty neat, but the 8 can do those things...Maybe not as good. I don't know how much I'd use AR anyways. I'd much rather have TouchID instead of FaceID. There's still a part of me that is willing to get a 7+ or even (Surprisingly :) ) keep my 6s+

I skipped the 7plus since it wasn't that impressive to me. The 8 either. If not for the X I would stay with the 6S Plus or try to score a PRODUCT Red 7Plus just for the color. 4 generations of the same for factor is boring, to me and this change was necessary.

Definitely the X, if the 8/8+ was the only choice I'd be skipping it. The X is just too tempting though with the large screen in the much smaller body.

Plan on getting the X, it's the only choice to me. The screen size and resolution should of been addressed by now. I'm hoping next year's version fills in the cut out with screen and touch id is integrated into the display.

Touch ID integrated into the display is going to be super cool!

I'm guessing that's why the late launch. Hope it's not hardware related as the rumors state.

My guess (and only a guess here) they will be sold out within 15-min of pre-order and there will be zero stock in store on 11/3 except maybe some rare locations. We can hope to see some stock in stores mid December. Just my guess.
