I have a 4S that was initially synced with an Exchange account for which I no longer have access to. What's the most effective and efficient way to transfer these items

Do the email items you are speaking of - are they on your phone or this server you cannot get to? If On phone even setting up a new acct you will not be able to access them soI do not believe you will be able to do anything other then forward them to another email, Set up a new acct and forward those to the new acct on your phone.
