Hello, guys!

How many of your phones suffer from this problem? Do you see your screen flickering on the picture bellow? What's the first two digits of your S/N?
Mine is F17 and flickers...

Because some of the batches are known for this particular problems - F17 for instance. Other like C39, DN are coming with better displays.

Can you share a link to an official article about this? I could find none.

Probably better to post that info rather than asking people for serial numbers, even if you're not asking for the entire number. Some may not feel comfortable in giving the numbers, even if it's not the entire number.

the first couple letters/numbers denote the factory it was made in and the date of manufacture. nothing to worry about, as many other have the same start. i think its only the last like 6 that are the actual device serial number.

for example, F1 denotes the factory China, Zhengzhou - Foxconn

Hello, I've just picked up an iPhone SE and the box says it's an F17 batch.. I haven't opened it yet and I am wondering if I should just return it and see if I can get a hold of a CX or DNX serial number one.. I've had this issue with every 4 inch device from Apple I've bought including the iPhone 5, 5s and 5c, I had the 5s swapped out and I ended up with a perfect unit, the iPhone 5's screen was also replaced under warranty and didn't have the same issue.

Currently I am using a 5c which I purchased new on Amazon, and it has the interlacing issue. It is called Pixel Walk. I am in the process of returning this 5c as well, and I'm shocked that this issue hasn't been acknowledged by Apple yet. The suppliers for these screens are not all equal. I will be playing iPhone hardware lottery some more it seems, wish me luck...

I actually recorded a video of this effect. I compared it to my 6S plus. You can see the effect going away as you zoom in on the photo. Its a little difficult to record becaus the flickering appears to happen a roughly the same speed as 30fps so i recorded it in 60 which helps a little

I have returned 10 iPhones before due to the interlacing scan lines issue. It is annoying and I believe a true defect. Why? Because it's not retina when you see all kinds of lines, especially in pictures. The 6s plus is the only phone that doesn't have them. It does not seem like a coincidence that all of them had a C serial # that I saw.

For the iPhone 5s the problem is global as I have noticed the exact same issue in different countries. I too independently came to the same conclusion that you did. The C serial #s are the best of the screens, for whatever reason. In more than one country I have taken a peak at the serial #s and seen the interlacing on the units with F (worst offenders and I've never seen one unit without it) D's also have it but far less. The C's are more or less OK with me. I'm glad I'm not nuts.

I have only seen iPhone SE with F serial #s here unfortunately. Never seen a C. And we do not have good return policies here, and ordering direct from Apple requires at least a month before you get your money back, and you have to take your phone to a 3rd party shipper, fill out paperwork, etc. It's not worth it.

Why there is no recall is beyond me. I want to buy an iPhone but I can't. Not when phones costing literally 1/4 the price have a 1080p screen that has zero interlacing. It only seems fair that if Apple is going to build a superior phone, the screen should not have interlacing lines.

If you guys get some grass roots thing to get these screens replaced (most genius people think you're nuts or it's just within spec) or better yet fixed the issue so there is no lottery, then let me know. Otherwise I'm done with the iPhone as this issue is big enough for me to jump ship. I can't enjoy my screen unless I'm reading black and white text.
