I use audiko.net to get my ringtones.
My current fave is the Sex & The City theme song.

You don't need to use freeware either. Everything can be done in itunes.

Yeah, I know. But that freeware program automatically cuts it down to the right size and adds it to your ringtone section in iTunes for you.

Can you take your own music and do that? Because using itunes, you can take your own music, set it to the length required for a ringtone and then convert it to an AAC.

Yeah you can. That program has to have an aac file as the input file. But it works.

@clg82

Click on the file, open it follow it through to itunes (which you have open) attach your iphone and drag the songs from ringtones (were they should have landed, if your set up right) to your iphone.

@clg82

no ace; on the left hand side in itunes under library there will be a list one should say ringtones. Drag from there. If there is no listing go to EDIT through to preferanses and tick on Ringtones to show it under library...

Here's my ringtone, has been for a few years. It's short, so it repeats, the way it should. If you're an MGS fan, you'll recognize this immediately. And when it rings in a room, you can always tell the fellow fans by sound of their snapping necks to see where the sound is coming from.

I have the (!) sound as well, if anyone's interested. Used to be my text alert sound...

I'd really like to get the (!) sound from Metal Gear Solid if someone could give me a link to download it i'd really appreciate it. thanks in advance!

good call on the MGS sound, but dont think you can set as sms/email tone unless jailbroken.

apple are a bit retarded on that one by not allowing you to change. bad enough they dont let you make ringtones for free or songs you already own.

(apart from the workaround obviously)

I always wondered why they wouldn't let you change the tone that alerts you when you have a new email, or text. Besides the lame ones they already have loaded:confused:
