IPhone restores and call lifetime timers

When I got my iPhone 3gs and restored from my 3g backup, all the call lifetime timers carried over. My 2 hour old device had 6 days worth of talk time on it already according to the usage menu.

All the other phones I have had on the past the lifetime timer was some thing you could not change.

Hmm......

I may have the same issue. But the question is, if you restore from an old Iphone, why would it reset the call timer (lifetime).

Eager for feedback from anyone on this one.

I'm not saying that it should reset the timers, but any other phone I have ever owned the lifetime timer is a system timer that is controlled by the system and there is generally no way to clear or reset it. Even a reset to factory default doesn't reset this counter.

I always think of the lifetime talk timer on a phone like the odometer on a car.
