You probably have to downgrade your baseband. I had the same problem just yesterday.
Download the latest version of redsn0w and the IPSW file of iOS 6.0.0.
I can't post any links, but you can find the instructions if you google "How To Downgrade iPhone 3GS / 3G 06.15.00 To 05.13.04 Baseband" on Redmond Pie.

You will need to set your iPhone in DFU Mode, so I'm not sure if this will work without the Power Button.

Let's get back to basics? you have a very old phone that was jail broken. And you did what to it exactly?
Plugged into iTunes and reset to factory settings?
Went into setting on the phone and hit erase all contents and settings?

You can put your phone into recovery mode without the power button but this does not work with DFU mode.

The iPhone 3GS isn't hard to open and replacement parts are cheap, so fix your power button first.
