Hold down your power and home button at the same time until you see the Aple logo and let go.

Reboot your device by holding down the power button and home button at the same time until you see the Apple logo. Then go to settings>general>about, then scroll down and see if your device is on iOS 7.1.2. If it's not then do the update process over.

Same thing happened to me. I had to reboot the device.
