iPhone freezes up when trying to update with my laptop

Help!
I can update my iPhone with no problems on my desktop. However, when I try to update from my laptop, iTunes seems to freeze and my iPhone goes into DNS mode about halfway through and never completes.

WTF is up with that?! I have all of my music, etc. on my laptop so it's a hassle for me to use the desktop and then go back to the laptop to sync all of my music, etc. to the iPhone.

Internet connection is good on the laptop and nothing else seems amiss. Why is this happening?!
