There are reports that fondling one's iPhone causes "hair to grow on the palm of one's hand."Ah, but half the fun of owning an iphone is fondling it!
After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.

There is a "Wi-Fi" setting on the iPhone, "Ask to join network." I have it set on. When the iPhone sees a new network, it prompts me with the name and kind of the network and asks me if I want to join. If it is a closed network, one will be prompted for the authentication information, e.g., WEP key. Most people probably have them in their pocketsI don't see/notice many phones these days with BT earpieces being so common. I do see lots of people talking to themselves, which I'm used to from living on Grateful Dead tour (and living in Santa Cruz)

I apologize. In one of the stories I read, they discussed two iphones causing the problem, but didn't cite the number "registered on the network."
However, I call BS on that number. Remember, these are the same clowns who thought a single (or 2) iphones were bringing down their network, only to change their minds a week later.
I'm a huge iphone fan, and I believe a million have been sold, but I do not believe 150 of them are at Duke University during their summer break.
Included in the wireless figures are two days of sales of Apple Inc.'s new iPhone, launched June 29. In that time, AT&T activated 146,000 iPhone subscribers, with more than 40 percent of them new customers.
