After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
My iP 5 is draining very fast on iOS 8.1. I've tried everything I can think of to remedy the issue. The closest Apple Store is 80+ miles away. Verizon is here, but I don't know if they would be much help. I also can't log in to the iMore app nor iMore on TapaTalk. Very frustrating.
I'm on my second bad battery with my iPhone 5. If you start the troubleshooting phase online, diagnostics can be run on your phone and the results uploaded (it all happens fast) and can tell you if your battery is bad. Then it will connect you via phone or live chat with a representative.
Update: I fixed my battery issues. Some new apps had background app refresh and location services on. Everything's back to normal for a 15 month old iP 5.
