iphone auto name entry

while sending an email in the iphone when i put the email address from a certain contact then on the receivers side it shows the name in the ''to'' part of the email. for example i am sending an email to a friend from my iphone contact whom i saved as dumb john, his email address is john@yahoo.com. now when i sent it, on the receiver's side in place of the email address the name shows and it will show dumb john. why do iphone need to put names instead of email address? how to change the system that iphone will not use any name from my phone book.

That depends on the recipient. If he has himself listed among his contacts with his own email address then the email he receives will display his name in the To, CC or BCC field.
