iPhone apps on iPad

Installed iOS 7 today on my ipad mini like just about everybody else and have noticed that the iPhone apps appear to look better on an ipad screen. I can't put my finger on why it looks better... Sharper maybe? Or is it just me?

The App icons on my iPad Mini look the same as those on my iPhone 5.

I wasn't talking about the icons. I'm talking about running iphone apps in 2x on ipad. I dont see an option to run in small screen anymore, and the 'stretched' version seems to look better than it used to look before updating to ios 7.
