Hi everyone,

I recent dropped my iPhone 7 and it was a pretty bad bang. I noticed a few hours later that the WiFi option on my control centre was frosted out. I am guessing it is the WiFi antenna that is damaged and needs replacing. I am quite handy with phone repairs and have fixed the WiFi antenna on an iPhone 6 before. However, I am unsure of wether it is the short range or longer range antenna that needs replacing to solve the problem and there is quite a difference in workload in replacing each one so I’m keen to make sure I’m replacing the correct antenna. Can anybody point me in the right direction ?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to iMore

Without seeing the damage we couldn’t begin to tell you what’s wrong with your device. I would make a Genius Bar appointment and they can pinpoint what the issue is

Thanks for reply Kataran,

Could you explain to me what the difference is in the two antenna’s or why there is two? And are both antennas directly connected to WiFi or is one more focused on Bluetooth and signal duties ?

Thanks
