I guess we will have to learn to like gesture navigation no matter what.
I’m sure it will come rather easily and may even be more efficient.
After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.

Right now I read that it’s a little slower than the home button for example closing open apps etc. but that could be just a learning curve people are experiencing but yeah everything gets faster with time
Just saw this in Snapchat //uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171203/d64af2c688450a117d9a5319963f3e39.jpg
Let me guess: Buzzfeed?
Exactly.
I was a Blackberry 10 user and once you get used to gestures they’re just as quick. Just have to train your brain.

Yo...that's gross. Is that supposed to be a potential new look for future iPhones? God I hope not, lol.
Yeah looks almost as bad as an android phone![]()

You learn the gestures quickly and they're no slower than using the home button![]()
Maybe next year I can upgrade to an 8 and be a home button “holdout” for as long as possible.
Is there any update on whether they will be offering a home buttoned iPhone next year?
No updates just yet.
Have you tried using the X?
Played with a X at Rogers briefly, can’t say that I like gestures much, would have to try it more.
