Rumours are saying that the iPhone 7 could come with the smart connector first seen on the iPad Pro, which could be an interesting idea.

If this is the case, I foresee a battery case that integrates straight into the phone and leaves the Lightning connector free. Wireless charging may also be an option.

I'm quite interested in this and it would certainly go some way towards alleviating my feelings of unhappiness that the headphone jack may be removed.

Thoughts?
