Okay, if anyone read my last post about my online order debacle Verizon never really cancelled my order and I received the note 7 on saturday. So far there are a few things i really like about the Note 7.

Here is my comparison:
Operating System - iOS in my opinion is definitely better than touch wiz, though not by much in some aspects. There are a few innovative features which I will miss if i return the note. First Always on display. This feature is Awesome, though not feasible on the iPhone's LCD display. Always being able to see notifications with very minimal impact on battery is great. Also widgets. The calendar widget is great. I like seeing what i have scheduled without actually having to click on the app. Also its able to set up on always on display feature. Touch wiz has come a long way since i had the original note. It's nowhere near as laggy as it used to be and it's pretty fluid now. I also really like that the messages feature is compatible with my car and it reads text messages out. I have a 2016 ford escape and it just doesnt work well with iOS.

S-pen: oh how i love this tool. Handwriting out text. Quick notes. There is nothing to complain about and definitely in my top two favorite things about the phone.

Screen: The screen is absolutely unreal. I tested out some qhd video and it's amazing. Photos look better, videos look better. The only thing is it tends to be a little over saturated but it still looks very nice. Also the lack of bezels is very nice. The edge display is really cool. I like being able to swipe over from any screen and make a call or send a text. Also when the phone is face down the colors glowing from the side let's me know when one of my favorite contacts is calling. Very nice all around.

Camera: This camera is much better than my iphone 6s plus camera. I still really like my iPhone's camera but you can see the difference, although it could be mostly due to the screen resolution.

Waterproofing: I have a two year old who tends to think its funny to give my phone a bath. It's happened twice now.

Wireless charging: very convenient although not necessary only takes a couple extra seconds to plug a cord in.

Cons:
Battery life: my iphone has much better battery life. I dont think its even comparable.

Touchwiz: there is no facetime and no imessage. It's definitely more complicated to use without a doubt.

Keyboard: the default Samsung keyboard is very lacking. After trying out the keyboard in ios 10 i would have to say Samsung is definitely lacking.

Integrated features: The lack of integration for messaging, calendar, video calling etc. Is a huge blow. I got so used to the simplistic seamless integration of iOS that it will take a while to get used to switching apps around. Though samsung has made it much easier to video call than it was.

Bloatware: every phone has it but samsung takes the cake when it comes to having three messaging apps. Three drives. Two email apps. Multiple browsers. Multiple calendar apps. It's all a little much. First thing i had to do was disable and delete quite a few apps.

Email: The iphones email app is definitely much better.

Overall: The note 7 is a fantastic phone. It's definitely almost to a coin flip to see which phone im going to keep. I'll probably return it and see what the new iphome has to offer. If i can get an apple pen to work with the new iPhone it's a slam dunk. Waterproofing and wireless charging would be even better. A qhd amoled screen? I wouldnt hesitate. I really like this screen it will be difficult to give it up of if it wasn't for some of the finer aspects of having a simple phone that just works. The iPhone in some areas is leaps and bounds ahead of Samsung. Desperately lacking in others. Overall two great phones i dont think anyone would go wrong with.

I'm using a S7 over my 6s+ right now and wireless charging, the screen and camera are all hard to give up. I'm getting more LTE bars at work over the iphone. imessege, facetime, more fluid apps, and 3D touch is what i'm really missing. It's hard to use both and but one or the other down.

We are dealing with two of the Big Boys. They a both great phones and it is entirely subjective on which one is better

I'm in the same boat. I actually love both. My main problem is now using the note 7 for a few days now I notice how much better phone calls sound on the note. Much better than the iphone. The signal is also better than the iphone. Right now my note is at -105 dbm my iphone is at -113dbm. I've checked around my town and it seems the iphone is always just a little worse. Not a big deal most of the time but I do have more call failed on my iphone and haven't had any issues on the note. Battery life is so much better on the iphone. So many pros and cons either way. I'm so tied into the iphone with all my family having iphones. I guess I have another 10 days to decide.

You're spot on in the signal difference. My s7 edge never drops a call compared to my 6s plus. My office is in hills w low cel coverage.

I've recently switched to the s7 edge and my experience is simlar to yours. The battery on my edge however outlasts my iPhone battery. I think it has better standby time but usage obviously depends on the person. I loved my iPhone but switched back to android and I truly miss imessage integration. Considering I have an iPad, macbook, and apple tv, it's kind of a drag to not have that synergy between devices and I'm finding I'm using the iPad less.

I am on Day 3 with just the Note 7 . It seems great. Battery life was great. I forgot it was USB C and brought the wrong charger and it lasted full day and a half, with lots of calls and a lot of GPS..

I have done this before and after a week or so without my 6S+ I start to miss it. I am sure that will happen again !

We all need counseling ! I am the same way. I loved the s7 edge and didn't use my iPad Air 2 either that much. Now I'm back to 6s plus and iPad combo.
One thing that was really bad was trying to send quick video messages to people from the edge. It was always compressed so bad and blurry. I tried to upload video to Dropbox and then text link. Yet clients and buyers were always Leary of clicking links.
I still have one of my s7 edges and use it on wifi when I need a quick fix or the camera for low light shots. Hahaha.

I ended up sending my note back. On the 6s plus. Oh how I missed the battery life. I charged my phone yesterday at like 5pm and went out for the night. still haven't charged my phone and am on 70%. My note would be at 70% three hours off the charger

Feel like I definitely dodged a bullet with the recall now...

Almost quite literally. I read one post on android central where someone posted they will keep the device because even if it catches fire when they are sleeping he can just put it out. Lol. I don't think they understand how fast fire spreads. And that's what makes it scary even though it as of now is such a small number.
