iPhone 6s Headphone Issue

I

iMore Question

Whenever I use headphones in my iPhone jack, there will eventually arise some issue. My phone will activate Siri (I do not have "Hey Siri" activated on my phone), and songs will pause, fast forward or skip. I have been having this problem for a long time. I would like to know if this is a problem with my iPhone or with the headphones I am using. It appears to happen most often with headphones that have a microphone function. Sometimes new headphones will fix the problem, but I have had to replace my headphones every few weeks or so.

Hi, welcome to iMore.

Make sure there is nothing in the headphone jack on your iPhone.
Use a wooden or plastic toothpick to remove any eventual lint from it.

I hope this will resolve your issue. If not, making an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store is an other option.

If, as you say, changing headphones will sometimes fix the problem, it would seem that the more likely cause of the problem is the headphones, not the iPhone. My 6s does not do this, but I do not use headphones with a microphone, ever.
