I dropped my phone for a bit in water before i took it out. I removed my case, dried the phone but i realised the ringger icon was stuck on the screen. So i removed the nano SIM card slot and after placing it outside for a few hours the water damage indicator didnt show. Only a part of my phone was submerged and the part was including my SIM tray. My phone is currently discharged and I havent tried charging it yet, it has been 8 hours. Its an old iPhone 6, should i assume my phone is dead or wait a bit longer for the water to dry out? Any advice?

Symptoms of water damage doesn’t necessarily appear at once. With that being said, I recommend you make preparations to replace it. If you’ve purchased Apple Care Plus for it, now would be a good time to use it.

To add to what D suggested, you can place your phone in a ziplock baggie full of uncooked rice for 24 to 48 hours. That should help dry it out a bit before you attempt to plug it in for a charge.
