iPhone 6 home button is a little loose?

I noticed my home button is a little noisy upon releasing the button after depressing it. It appears the home button has a tiny amount of play in it where my iPad home button has zero play. It springs back up and feels pretty solid. Is this normal for a home button with Touch ID?

I've had that problem with everything since the 4. I took one back to exchange it and the next two they brought out did the same thing. I got used to it.

Yeah, I just got my iPhone 6 plus out of the box and the home button is noisy. It sometimes is normal like my iPhone 5 but then it makes a clicky noise which is not smooth. I think I will make a genius appt.
What did you find out? is it normal or did you replace it?

What do you mean 'play'?

That's normal. The home button has produced a firm, audible click since they added Touch ID in the 5S. What's not normal is for the home button to have play, but it doesn't sound like you have that issue.

I went to the apple store and found out it is normal. The new iPhone 6 plus button is very different than the iPhone 5. the click is normal. We are just not used to it because we have been using the iPhone 4 or 5 for years. Now that I know it's normal it doesn't bother me.

I'm coming from a 5 and the first 6 I received in the mail from Verizon had a pre-click when you would barely touch the button as if it was popping back into position or the button was slightly misshapen and rubbing against the metal ring. It was driving me crazy so I went to the Apple store yesterday and all the phones on display as well as the two replacements they brought out to me had that very distinct and audible click when releasing the button. I don't like it but as it's been previously stated, it's the new normal. It's two separate pieces of material your finger/thumb is touching now so there is some very slight movement between the two but if it's really loose I'd say take it back. The only way to somewhat silence the new home button is to push toward the outer edge instead of the center.

I also got AppleCare+ yesterday, I've got a feeling it's going to come in handy someday...

Mine was so loose, it would rattle when the phone vibrated, unless the phone was in a case. I went to Apple and they gave me a new one. No issues since.

I feel the same way. I've got an iPhone 6 plus. the home button feels a little bit loose. When I put my finger on it and give it just a very little force it moves down a little bit. and I can even hear the clicky sound. I tried my friend's iPhone 5s it looks better (even after almost one year usage)

So I think this might be a flawed button, but Im ok with it since Im not obsessed with such little things.
