Has anyone noticed how laggy it has become when scrolling in facebook? It has gotten so choppy similar to an android device. And the spotlight search lagges alot

Try disabling transparency in Settings-General-Accessibility. Helps a lot.

I have a 5, and don't experience that on Facebook. It is buggy in the Facebook browser where articles are loaded with ads. That's true everywhere, including Twitter. Too many ads will ruin a site. That's why many are using the ad block apps. I'll have one Friday.
