iPhone 5 home button is unresponsive

Hi,

I recently replaced my battery on my iPhone 5 and now my home button is completely unresponsive. Does anyone have a quick/easy fix or something to try for this, or am I stuck having Apple do a recalibration and paying way more out of pocket? Please let me know if you know anything, thanks!

Try this:

• Open a native iOS app
• Hold the Sleep/Wake button until you get the slider
• Then press and hold the Home button until you get the homescreen

I tried that, and still nothing. I hold the home button for approx. 30 seconds and eventually the lock screen goes away and I'm back at the app.

The weird thing is, when I press down on the home button here, you can see a small "ripple" on the screen that goes away once I stop pressing.

You might need to carry it to an Apple store and have them look at it. That is what I would do.

Thanks, I did go last week and they said it'd be $129 - just to hook it up and see if it needed recalibration. Was looking to avoid that and for an easier fix, and may just have to go with the AssistiveTouch until the 6C's come out.
