iphone 5 Headphone Jack Replaced, but headphone mic / external mic is not working

I have replaced my iPhone 5 Dock Port & Headphone Jack part yesterday. But I noticed that the mic and volume controls ( using headphones with mic in the AUX input) stopped working on the iPhone. Could it be that the part I installed does not support these functions or is it another issue ?

Just to make sure, the headset AUX is TRRS so the problem is not from the speakers/mic, as I also tried them on another phone.

It could be there went something wrong in the process. Like you suggested, a non-supported hardware may also cause issues.
