iPhone 5 64gb Replacement

iMore Question

my friend is giving me his old 64gb iphone 5, but he has sprint and i have virgin mobile. the only thing we can think of to make it work for me is for him to break his 5 (he has apple care+) so he can get a 5c which will work on virgin mobile. but since the 5c only goes up to 32gb, will he just get that? or could he get a 64gb 5s and pay for the difference? or is there any way to get the sprint iphone 5 to work on virgin mobile? thanks!

I believe that Virgin Mobile is a Sprint reseller so it should actually work after Virgin Mobile provisions it. I'd check with them before doing anything drastic.

virgin mobile doesnt allow phones onto their network that arent bought directly from them, so unless theres a way to get around that, it wont work
