iphone 4 stuck on connect to itunes

i tried upgrading my phone to ios 7 & now its stuck on "connect to itunes" no matter what I do.... its been this way for 2 days... can somebody please give me some good advice on how to reboot my iphone 4

If you can get it into DFU mode you should be able to get it updated to iOS 7. It's not ideal and it can be kinda of tricky but it should work. - How to put your iPhone or iPad into DFU mode | iMore or Recovery Mode. Keep in mind, this may cause data loss unless you have a back up floating around somewhere.

In addition to what Chris wrote, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.
