Iphone 4, mailbox shows 160 sent e-mails even though all have been erased, how can this be cleared?

Login to your email account's website and make sure the 160 sent emails are indeed deleted therein. Also make sure that you check the trash folder and then make sure they're deleted from within it. Afterwards, the results should sync to your iPhone.
