My buddy has a iphone he bought, only thing is it says connect to a computer running itunes to complete activation. The meid is clean and clear. But whenever i plug it in to the computer it doesnt register in itunes. Any suggestions before i call apple?

iTunes is not needed to activate an iPhone.
If it's a GSM you need to have a SIM card
If it's a CDMA you can call the carrier or if you have an account just go to the carrier website and activate it
