iPhone 3GS running iOS 6, no tv out?

My son just called and cannot get his 3GS running 6.0 to hook up to tv. My old 4 (jailbroken and still on 5.1.1) does just fine. Will the 3GS not do that??

Its just because apple remove some features of iOS 6 on iPhone 3GS. cmiiw
