Picked up two iPhone 15 Pro Max in Blue titanium and natural titanium

Here are some of the cases Apple Watch bands, and Wallet I picked up.

Might pick up a couple more cases, MagSafe dock, and wallets in the next couple of weeks.

Mine arrived about 1130 this morning. The new phone would not import data from my 14 Pro, so I had to import from an icloud backup (which was fresh). Otherwise, setting up the phone was fairly easy. The process to transfer watches, however, did not work at all and that turned out to take HOURS to do. Basically, I had to unpair from the 14, then reset them, then add them. Giant pain!

I saw something about this on another site this morning. There’s apparently a new iOS 17.0.2 for the 15 series only (my 13 doesn’t see it) that fixes this and it’s supposed to prompt you to update during the process to make it work. Sounds like you may have gotten your phone before it was available or it just didn’t want to show it to you. Apparently that’s happening as well and a work around is to set up differently so you can get into settings, update manually, etc. then you could wipe and retry the import setup instead if desired.

My 15 Pro Max prompted to upgrade to 17.0.2 before I started transferring. So I did. Was able to transfer direct phone to phone from my 13 Pro Max. No issues. Took about 50 minutes.

Setup new Series 9 from a Series 4. That went without issue as well.

You can’t transfer directly from phone to phone unless you update the iPhone 15 pro/pro max first, which imitates automatically once you try to move your data.

It’s supposed to but apparently at least on Friday it wasn’t for some people.

Great so far, still adjusting to some of the UI differences that dynamic island brings since I was using a 13 Pro before. Got a Spigen magsafe stand that I can stuff my bedside magsafe charger in for nightstand mode so that will be nice. I weighed the phone vs my old 13 Pro in a caudabe sheath vs the 15 Pro Max in the finewoven (so the cases should be similar weight) and the new Pro Max was 8g lighter than my old phone! Looking forward to taking some great photos on the new phone though, and we picked up a rescue doggy over the weekend so I'll definitely have a subject to test with .

Setup was super easy with the standard bring the phones together and let them transfer. I always get nervous my 2FA stuff is going to break but it went pretty smoothly. Just had to use the unwiped 13 Pro to help out with the moving it between devices in a couple spots. I used to always use the local secure backup on my PC to make sure all that kind of stuff got moved over but the transfer between phones really seems to be the same thing now.
