“ Today's news follows a similar report citing sources within the supply chain when saying that Apple had made cuts to its iPhone 14 Plus orders. Now, a new report backs that up with much the same rhetoric.”

Keyword is rhetoric. Apple is about as secretive as a big private company can be. Going to the extent of punishing suppliers who don’t keep their mouths closed. So be sure this is rhetoric that is probably hearsay, three degrees from an actual insider source. Bloomberg and a certain reporter, who will go nameless, likes to “report” IPhone production is being cut almost every other month. Quantified wrong frequently but still gets headlines that shout it is fact. Not good….

That’s not what Foxconn is reporting.

It's my impression that the 14 Pro lines are doing very well... and that the 14 "non-pro" lines are the ones rumored to be a "flop". The reality of all of this will eventually become free and clear once the facts are out. And the murkiness of all rumors will subside like early morning fog when the sun rises!

LMAO!

We won’t know anything until January when apple reports their q1 23 earnings which takes place in q4 22.

They had the same report about xr and we all know how that turned out, the iPhone XR was a actually the number 1 selling phone.

“Flop” is a most interesting word. Flop could be a complete falsehood(I’d bet on that), or 14/14+ could be a flop compared to the 14 Pro/Pro Max, or a flop compared to the 13/13 Mini, or an actual flop like the Pixel :)
As FFR says, we’ll know after Apple’s late January ER with some data from Canalys popping in first.

From Apple’s view, It’s arguably a flop if the number of purchases fall significantly short of expectations. From customers’ viewpoint, it’s a flop if no one wants it. ;)
