Hey guys. I’ve just picked up IPhone 11. If i leave it on charge overnight will it ruin my battery over time? Thanxs guys.

No, it will not. In all those years that I’ve had a smartphone, I’ve been charging them overnight, every night and none of my batteries were ruined.
Also, Apple has introduced Optimized Charging with iOS 13, purely for this reason. To save your battery from degrading more than necessary over time.

No, it won’t ruin your battery, and really it is the most sensible way to charge. We were always told that our iPhones would stop accepting a charge when the battery was full, if that has not changed(and why would it ?) then all should be fine.

And optimized charging works if you are hard wired or charging wirelessly.

That's the debate for a century.
But all I can say is:
All Lithium Ion Batteries and Lithium Polymere Batteries are restricted with the same physical and chemical rules.

Which means, to maintain long life for:
1.) Best operating temperature is between 32°F and 95°F - especially going above 95°F will harm cells.
2.) Best charging stage is 62% - which mean operation the batteries between 30% and 75% will give you longest battery life span.
3.) If you plug your device to charge - charge it at least for 15min.
4.) Don't top it up above 70%.

Normal number of charging cycles until battery health drops below 85% are 500.
If your follow the "rules" 1-4 I wrote you can extend battery life up to 1500 times for 85% battery health.

That also why Apple implemented that "optimized charging" feature in iOS13 for over night charging. This learn your charging behavior and charge your device up to 80% and top it up just right before your take it off the charger.
This is a nice add on to make your battery live longer.
But following "rules" 1-4 will make you battery live the longest.
So, I personally won't recommend charging over night.

If you are interested in that top check out battery university - they are explaining all about any kind of batteries and there needs.
