This is a must have accessory that I just put on my Apple iPad case today. If you misplace your iPad there is contact information for it to be returned. Bought it from newpcgadgets. It is stainless steel with an adhesive backing that is engraved with your name and phone or email address.

With society as it is today, if someone can rip a man's finger off while stealing his iPad, or someone else can steal property found in a bar and get paid $5000 for it, then an engraved nameplate stuck on your iPad isn't going to do any good.

Seconded. Being optimistic and thinking that someone who finds it wants to return your ipad is all good, but chances are they are not looking to return it. But hey, here's to hoping it helps you one day, or that you never have to rely on it at all.
