iPad pro (2017) $529 now vs iPad air $499

I have done the research but would still love your opnion on ipad pro 10.5 inch from 2017 or ipad air 2019? This is for my mom, who primarily uses it for media consumption, games, facebook, etc. The cost is only $25 more for the pro but wanted your opnion given that it is 2 years older. She tends to keep her ipads for as long as she can update her apps. Thank you for your clever and insightful videos!

If it were me, I’d take the newer iPad Air since it has the same screen size as the Pro model from 2 years ago and because she’ll primarily use it for media consumption.

I have the iPad Pro 10.5" 2017.
But just bought the iPad Air 2019 for my wife.

I was faced with this decision a month ago. But the 2017 iPad Pro was being sold on amazon for $500 even. I picked the pro. I wanted the faster screen and extra speakers. I doubt I’d ever notice the CPU differences. The pro from 2017 is faster than some laptops so I’m fine with it. I’m glad I got the pro but your case sounds like it might make sense for your mom to have the air.
